Dirt's cleans up at Outback Speedway - 9/6
The  OFNA Dirt Oval team showed up ready to race and made a Labor Day weekend trip up the Blue Ridge Mountains to Greeneville, Tennessee to Outback Speedway, a beautifully prepped red clay oval nestled in the mountains of Tennessee. Owners Paul, Ash and Josh Valentine have a great facility and a large weekly crowd of Oval racers.  The race was a points and trophy race with a large crowd and some of the best oval racers from three states competing. Dirt Oval Logo
Their classes were 1/10 Bomber, 1/8 Buggy, 1/8 Novice Late Model,  1/8 Limited Late Model and 1/8 Super Late Model. I saw a lot of OFNA Dirt Oval cars there!  This race was my first time out on the track with the new Picco .28 Turbo engine.  It provided awesome power and led me to TQ and win the 1/8 Super Late Model class.

Hyper 9 wins both Nitro and Electric Mains! - 9/5-6th
After 2 days of competition with over 110 entries, Hyper 9 Pro pilot Jeremy Kortz won the NitroHouse.com Labor Day Challenge at Revelation Raceway with Chad Bradley (TQ) finishing second driving his Jammin CR X2.  Bradley and Kortz both had good starts and battled for the lead during their first two tanks of fuel.  Just before the start of the main event, Kortz had changed to OFNA's yellow foam inserts which proved to be the winning choice as he slowly started to extend his lead and win the race after 40 minutes under a 90 degree sun.  Also in the 1/8 Electric Buggy class Tim Bump took TQ and won the A-main.  Jeremy didn't have time to get his electric prepared, since he wanted to put on a good show using his Nitro Buggy.  Sorry Kortz.. you could have been a two timer!

Chad wins at Tuesday Nationals - 9/01/09
9/01 - Hot Rod Tuesday Night Nationals: A light turn out at Hot Rods Tuesday night, 85 entries. Chad Bradley took the TQ in both rounds of qualifying and led every lap in the main with his Jammin X2 buggy.  The track very rough, Chad changed his normal setup for the bumpy conditions (lighter springs front & rear and went to a little longer wheel base), he said this helped his X2 buggy in those conditions.  Chad also wrapped up the Tuesday night July-August series with a perfect score!

Hyper Sprint makes a showing at Local Track
This weekend we ran an exhibition race with the NEW OFNA Sprint cars.  The cars were run stock out of the box with some minor changes on the shock springs.  Nelson ran a Picco Evo3 .21 engine and Harrington ran a Novarossi .28 engine.  Both drivers commented on how good the cars drove with the stock setup.  Harrington's Sprint was seen popping wheelies coming out of the corners.  There was 2 other drivers with Sprint cars present, but they didn't run because they were waiting on engines.  The Sprint's look to be a great addition to the 1/8 dirt oval scene!  Here's how they finished:

With the recent opening of two new indoor On-Road and Off-Road tracks, Jeffrey Lin has been busy running the new OFNA JL-10e Electric 195mm Sedan.  Taking the TQ and Wins last week in 17.5 brushless RCGT Class at both OCRC Raceway and WCRC Raceway has been good for his OFNA product.  Jeffrey said, "the JL-10 car is great and very easy to drive.  It has good corner speed and handles super.  Using the Epic Duo 2 with KO ESC gives the fast straightaway speed he needs, to be on top."

Chad wins at Tuesday Nationals - 7/28/09
7/28/09 Tuesday Night Nationals at Hot Rod's - Hot Rod's had their largest turn out of the year for a club race with 120 entries!  Jeremy Kortz was on hand Tuesday with his Hyper 9 Pro along with Chad Bradley and his Jammin X2 buggy.  Chad TQ'ed both rounds 1 and 2.  In the main event, on lap one Chad went wide and Jeremy made an aggressive move on the inside to take the early lead.  Jeremy lead for a few minutes extending his lead to a couple seconds over Chad.   Jeremy had a slow lap which allowed Chad to muscle his way to the inside to get around Jeremy.  Chad lead the rest of the way to take the win and Jeremy taking 2nd.
